My Top Favorite Looks of 2020
As we inch near the end of this nerve wrenching year, I wanted to reflect and take a moment to highlight the more positive and lighter moments of this rollercoaster 365 days. As a fashion lover, I always fine myself shopping or getting dressed to destress and take my mind off of the hustle and bussle of life. Although I didn't get to travel and do much of what I wanted this year, I was still able to pull off some of my favorite looks to date. This time in my life has taught me how to make lemonade with lemons and push past all of life's adversities. So cheers to the new year and I can't wait to see what 2021 has in store.
Style Guide: 7 Oversized Looks That Will Inspire Your Wardrobe
The oversized clothing trend has made its rounds throughout fashion history, redefining gender bias and growing the acceptability of what it means to wear baggy clothing in the 21st century. As a petite female who stands at only 5"1, it has been very hard for me to indulge in this fashion trend. I felt like wearing anything oversized was doing my petite figure an injustice and simply was just not flattering at all (not like I have curves to show off anyways.) Something about it has always reminded me of the dreaded hand-me-down phase I experienced during my early teen years. Looking back at it, it seems like it was a really good excuse for my mom to not have to take me shopping because I had an older sister who's clothes could be reworn. Growing up in the south (Atlanta,Ga) I was first introduced to the oversized fashion trend in the early 2000's. If you're not familiar with this, this was a time when 3x white tee's, baggy jeans, and oversized accessories played a huge role in black culture and the southern hip-hop aesthetic. If you weren't rocking this trend at the time, let's just say you were completely out of the loop. As that trend slowly began to fade away and my fashion maturity started blossoming (granted I was only 6 around this time) I started having a better appreciation for what fashion was and how to use it to express myself. Fast forward to now, I've started really taking the time to study people who I feel have been able to effortlessly pull off this style. This trend can be very challenging to master because it is so easy to drown and get lost behind your clothing but don't let that scare you away from trying, you're to dope to run away from a little challenge! Here are a few of my fav oversized fashion looks that I believe were executed flawlessly. Sneaker Review: I Used GOAT To Purchase My Off White Waffle Racers
As of late I've been oddly obsessed with sneakers. I'm not sure what quarantine has done to me but it has me hanging up my heels for the time being. If you're into eccentric and abstract sneakers, then these Off-White Waffle Racers are right up your alley. These sneakers are weirdly all over the place and super funky but it works! From the baseball cleat like spikes to the bright lime green reflective shoe laces and nylon and synthetic material overlay, I was immediately sold. Prior to purchasing these shoes, I had no clue where to shop for dope sneakers. I was searching on websites like Nike, Foot Locker, and Finishline but kept coming up short. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with these sites, but in my personal opinion they don't have a large variety of sneakers, especially for older released shoes. I eventually came across GOAT and lets just say I wasn't disappointed! I downloaded the app for quick access and absolutely love how easy it is to shop, save my favorite items, and watch fluctuating shoe prices. With GOAT you can purchase and resell shoes. Before you receive your sneakers, they ship your item off to their outlet to be authenticated. With only a few scrolls and a couple of taps, you are guaranteed to find the perfect sneaker. Another thing that I love about GOAT is that it allows you to set up various payment options. I personally use Affirm when I shop with GOAT and can customize my repayment option at a very low interest rate. Buy no pay-later with no surprises. Sneaker head or not, GOAT is a great site for discovering the hottest shoes out and enhancing your shoe game. 5 Practical Ways To Find Your Creative Voice That Is Dying to Be Hear
If you're a true creative at heart, then you're more than likely uncomfortably familiar with the paralyzing feelings of confusion, inadequacy, being misunderstood and disoriented. Each and every day can be a challenge trying to process the tossing thoughts that are dying to be hear. Often times it is not stressed enough that the journey to finding your creative voice can be a terrifying experience. With such a negative stigma that is associated with being inconsistent or lackadaisical; can make the discovery phase very discouraging for those who are new to the process and don't know what to expect. It is imperative that you first accept that things won't be easy and that the rollercoaster of emotions you'll experience along the way, is all apart of the winding road to success. Creatives are gifted with the superpower to influence, inspire, persuade, and create. Now is the time to dust off those deep rooted dreams and ideas and learn how to better put them to use. 1.) Discovery The discovery phase is when your creative juices are flowing and are at an all time high. You have no clear direction on how you'll achieve your ideas, but what is more then certain is, that the thoughts feel good. It is so important to write down those initial thoughts and begin to create a plan! Visualize them, soak them them in, and begin to focus on small attainable goals. Setting small attainable goals allows incremental growth and more opportunity for reward. If your goals are to high in the beginning then it leaves more room for you to become discourage throughout your journey. Cut out that unnecessary burden of your confidence taking a hit and remember that it is ok to take baby steps. 2.) Be Vulnerable Whew this is a tough one! No one really talks about how vulnerability is essential to discovering your creative voice. Vulnerability is a secret weapon that a lot of people haven't learn to tap into. The beauty of vulnerability is, that is allows people access to your true authentic self. Utilize what makes you "YOU". People love someone who they feel as though they can share a similar experience with. You become an instant magnet and attract people through the hope/inspiration they gain through simply relating to who you are. Vulnerability is such a freeing experience. Usually the ideas that hold the most sentimental value to you are the ones that will win your audience over. Make the commitment to being 100% unapologetically you. Start by allowing people access to your quirkiness, your hardships, your personal preferences, and your journey and watch how people begin to naturally gravitate to who you organically are. "Now keep in mind that I am an artist and I'm sensitive about my sh%t."- Erykah Badu 3.) Take Action Once you've gotten past the discovery phase and have committed to being vulnerable, now is the time to put some action behind your ideas! Whether it's designing, writing, building, or creating; start pushing out your work. Transform those thoughts into something tangible. Be mindful that this step will take some time, so don't rush the process. Internalize what's going on. Pay attention to the road blocks you encounter and how you maneuver through them. Once you've reached the point to where your work is complete, share it with your audience. Although it is very important to track analytics and engagement don't get to wrapped up in this! They are great for determining what your audience likes, but you don't want your confidence to be wavered on whether or not you receive high engagement on what you put out. 4.) Be Patience With Yourself This is a KEY component to finding your creativity voice. Simply being patience with yourself. Although it seems like a simple concept to grasp, it can be quite difficult to apply. We all strive for perfection in some sense but that mindset in all actuality is the very thing that is setting you up for failure. Give yourself room to be human. Some days you are going to mess up, you're not going to want to work, your engagement maybe low, or you may just encounter a creative block. Don't allow these obstacles to negate all of your hard work. Don't run away from these feelings or force yourself to be at 100% even when your body is telling you the opposite. Remember it is ok to take a step back. Don't dwell under the pressure that you have to have everything under control all of the time. 5.) Master Your Craft Last but most certainly not least, master your craft. As a creative you never stop learning. Study your craft, study those who are dominating in your area of specialty, and continue to use what you find as building blocks. Mastery doesn't require you to be perfect, but it requires you to pursue perfection. In doing so it allows you to enjoy the results that your work produce. Learn to become one with your craft. Fully immerse yourself within your work, and find the joy in what you do. Mastery comes with practice. You will never get away from this. As clique as it is "practice makes perfect." Practice is the road that will lead to mastery. "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit."— Will Durant "All of us who do creative work, we get into it because we have good taste. But there is this gap. For the first couple of years you make stuff, and it’s just not that good. It’s trying to be good, it has potential, but it’s not.” Glass continued, “But your taste, the thing that got you into the game, is still killer. And your taste is why your work disappoints you. A lot of people never get past this phase. They quit. Most people I know who do interesting, creative work went through years of this.”

Kiss Press On Nails That Will Make You Ditch The Nail Salon
Quarantine has birthed a self sufficient queen! Like many others when house arrest began in March (stay-at-home orders), I had a mini meltdown when nail salons along with the whole beauty industry shutdown due to Corona. Although I wasn't going anywhere because of the nation wide shutdown, I knew I was going to need a quick fix very soon. During the first half of Corona, I didn't put to much pressure on myself to maintain the up keep of my nails but now that life is returning back to normal (well kind of), my nails have made its way back to the top of my priority list. Now let's get into the part that YOU really care about. Where did I purchase these nails that have me DITCHING THE NAIL SALON. I purchased these press on nails from the local beauty supply store. No not Sally's but your local ethnic beauty supply store (or you can purchase them on Amazon for a bit more.) These almond shape Kiss french tip press on nails only cost me a whopping $7.99! Yes, you read that right, $7.99 compared to a $40 plus gel full set. I love these nails because they look professionally done, they are not to long, and I get tons of compliments on them. Now for those of you who are wondering about their durability..., listen I'm two steps ahead of you. I work part-time as a waitress and let's just say I haven't run into any problems with them coming off. I do a lot of hand washing, carrying plates, and lifting and still leave with ALL of my nails in tacked. If you follow the instructions and make sure you're buffing your nails and putting the right amount of glue on them, you won't run into any problems. You can expect these beautiful nails to last you about a week in a half to two weeks (if you apply them the right way.) I love these press-on so much because they don't ruin my real nails like acrylics normally do leaving them dry, weak, and brittle. To put the icing on the cake, these nails are also 100% reusable and shower proof! If one happens to pop off, buff your nail, glue it back, and return to your regular schedule life. These press ons are great for those who still don't feel comfortable going to the nail salon, can't wear nails at work due to dress code and need a quick weekend fix, or for those who just simply want to try something new. Press on nails are becoming more and more popular especially with nail techs creating customizable flashy nail art (these are really nice but can be a little pricey and take forever to ship.) But if you don't want to deal with that hassle, these nails are your best bet. To purchase these nails click the image below. Or visit your local beauty supply store. Click me!

Vintage Designer: The Instagram Boutiques That Won't Break The Bank
Over the years I've grown a great obsession with vintage designer items!I absolutely adore their timelessness and how they seamlessly fit into whatever the current fashion trend is. It has always been hard for me to find exclusive designer items because I hated the process of store hoping, and never had the paitence for it. I know, I know your're probably thinking that's the beauty of it all but I like online shopper better. About a year ago I came across two vintage designer boutiqes while scouring through my Instagram explore page and have been obsessed ever since. Because I'm a firm believer in sharing shopping secrets, I decided to let you all in on my online vintage boutique go to's. Now don't be alarmed if these boutiques may ring a bell; they are growing in popularity and are quickly making a name for themselves. TheMmVintage and TheReinVintageCollection have been my top two favs for a while because of their quality and price point. As a recent college grad with expensive taste and coins that don't necessarily reflect that, it is super important for me to find quality authentic items that are at a good price point. I've tried sites like Tradesy and TheLuxuryCloset but everything worth buying was still to pricey. But I digress. Although we may all be in different places along our fashion journey, these boutiques will be sure to upgrade your personal style without breaking the bank. 1.) TheMMVINTAGE (@themmvintage) If you are looking for a one stop shop that has everything from your fav designer bags, accessories, and clothing then TheMmVintage has you covered! Their inventory is always stocked with the latest trends and seems to fly off the shelf before you know it. If your anything like me and like to sit on items for a while before you purchase them, then you may want to reevaluate that before you end up out of luck. What puts the icing on the cake is, that they offer personal shopping services. So if you're ever eyeing a certain item and can't seem to find where to purchase it, don't stress it they have you covered. 2.) TheReinVintageCollection (@thereinvintagecollection) If your still not convinced on if things are legit, or maybe still on the fence on whether or not these items are worth buying, then let me introduce you to TheReinVintageCollection. If you are big on things being cosigned before you make an expensive purchase, then lets just say I have a little "fashics ammo." This popular vintage boutique has been seen in Vogue magazine and has also been cosigned by Kim Kardashian as her fav vintage boutique shop. This vintage fairy godmother has a plethora of designer items that will have you feeling like a kid in a candy store. They are currently an online based boutique but are opening a showroom in Chicago, Illinois soon.
